Showtime's "Out Of Order" a great show!
So I was up late sunday night or technically monday morning I guess. I was up watching Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. I admit it, I'm an adult and I watch cartoons!I was waiting for Cowboy Bebop to come on. It's a great anime (japanesee animation) series, trust me! Anyways, I was flipping through the movie channels around 1am and found a show called Out Of Order on Showtime... It caught me and dragged me right in. I started watching it and forgot all about my beloved bebop. Which was probabbly good becuase it ended up being Session 4: Gateway Shuffle. Which is one of the more boring Cowboy Bebop episodes...
Anyways, Out of Order is about the life of a screen writer named Mark(played by Eric Stoltz). He's married to Lorna(played by Felicity Huffman) who's basically falling apart and lives in a nice area of hollywood. He knows big directors, his son's soccer team plays against Steven Speilbergs son in the pilot.
The show shows the world though Mark so lots of times he's making voiceover remarks, the camera angles try to hint at what he sees, etc. That alone makes it interesting from the usual sitcom trash on network tv. You feel more connected to and a part of the character.
It is on showtime though, so you know their "No Limits" tag line will be forced into the show. There is nudity, sex, and lots of drinking and drugs. But unless your one of those uptight morality police types it won't bother you. Infact I hardly noticed it. I was spending my time watching the drama of a guys life unfold.
It's a very real show and it deals with serious issues. This isn't a show for people that just want to stare mindlessly at the screen for an hour ala Sex in the City or Sopranos. You will be confronted with issues that many people are uncomfortable talking about. That's what makes the show so great. It's true reality TV. Not that contrived and faked junk being forced down our throats. Just real issues that people do cope with in their lives.
Plus did I mention it has some really great actors in the cast like Eric Stoltz, Felicty Huffman, Justine Bateman, William H. Macy, etc...
The pilots being shown again tonight so go catch it or one of the other many times showtime replays it.
It's on Mondays at 10PM eastern/pacific on one of the showtime channels so check it out.

yea, out of order is a terrific show, but as far as i’ve seen it only has 6 episodes. is that all there is? is it a one-time mini-series type of gig, or are we going to see more seasons? hmm…
