Diablo II 1.10 beta patch released

Blizzard released a beta of the new 1.10 patch for Diablo II. It's only for the US version of Diablo II:Lord of Destruction expansion currently. However, the final patch will also support the original game. Also, when you install the patch you can only play single player and direct TCP/IP games. Sorry no battle.net yet!

You can grab the patch here and read up on all the info: http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/beta/.

Also make sure to check out the official battle.net forum for the new patch: http://www.battle.net/forums/board.aspx?ForumName=d2-beta I haven't had a change to install and use it yet so I won't make any comments.

However, I do hope the good folks at blizzard fixed the Necromancer because as far as I'm concerned that character class has always been broken. Even with a fully maxed out level 99 character with the very best equipment a necro just plain sucked.

I love playing necromancer because it lets you dabble in the dark arts and raise minion to do your fighting while you stand back and watch. However, its impossible to play a necro because even maxed out you can spend several minutes fighting a small pack of baddies in hell difficulty. Whereas a half-way decent bowzon can fire off a 10-20 rounds of multi-arrows and clean out a whole room in under a minute!

Well enough of my ranting. Everyone go get the patch and start testing it. We've been waiting too long for this patch so lets help blizzard get it out as quick as possible.
