Another week down the drain

Been a pretty boring week around here.  I got back from NYC on Monday morning.  Woke up at 5am and zipped over to the airport for a 6:30am flight.  Leaving after spending the weekend with my girlfriend is the hardest thing I do.  I get so used to us being together and having to say goodbye with the knowledge that it will be weeks before we are together again hurts.

I’ve just been working every day at UPS.  They moved me to a a new truck last Friday.  It’s much more heavy than Wadsworth was.  I went from loading 75% of a trailler a day to moving 3-4 trailers a day.  I’ve gotten used to the work though so it doesn’t bother me too much.  The main thing I’ve found is to just relax.  It’s very easy to get flustrated and stressed out when the boxes come pouring down the chute with avalanche force.  The thing is you just tell yourself it doesn’t matter.  The supervisor might ride you a bit to get the chute cleared but you just ignore him.  Work at a steady pace and you’ll make it to the end of the day.

It’s Friday so payday.  Thankfully, I have direct deposit setup so I got my money into my bank without problem.  The checks and stubs weren’t here today so those unlucky enough to get real paychecks are screwed till Monday.  The funny thing is the checks are actually shipped via UPS to the place so somebody along the way managed to misload the box and so the checks for this facility are probabbly in a truck going to some other town!

Anyways, this weekend I have a several things on my todo list.  First is to make a budget.  I’d like to start saving up some money to afford to move to NYC within a year or so.  Second is to get working on my ExpressionEngine modules that I’ve sort of put aside for the past few weeks.  There are a few other things I’d like to do that I can’t remember right offhand but I’m sure I will later.
