My Goals, New Years Resolutions, for 2009
1) Start exercising more often and harder. I need to get off my rear and put a little more effort into taking care of my health.
2) Start speaking at technology user groups and events. Since starting to attend user groups and events over the last year and a half I find myself really wanting to be on the other side of the room. Sitting and learning is great and I love attending the events but I want to be one of those people up there sharing knowledge.
3) Start doing some consulting on the side. In this economy and world having a backup plan is a very smart thing. I want to start doing a little side work to earn a few bucks and build up my skills and reputation as a developer. Luckily I have a decent job but you just never know now days. I want to make sure to cover my backside, just in case.
4) Save to buy a house. It sure is a scary time to think about this but I want to stop wasting money renting an apartment every month. I’d rather take that money and invest it in myself and my future but paying for a house. I don’t know if I’ll buy a house this year but I’d like to try to start saving a good nest egg for a down payment when I do.
So there they are. I don’t have a lot but these are ones I want to work on for this year!

Help me donate my CodeMash Wii to charity
I was very lucky and at this years CodeMash I won a Nintendo Wii! Thanks to Jason Follas and the fine folks at Perficient for donating the Wii.
However there is one slight issue. I already have a Wii! I don’t want to be greedy and in the spirit of the community I am going to sell the Wii on ebay shortly. All proceeds from the sale will be given to a fine charity. I’m asking the community to help me decide who to donate the money too.
** UPDATE **
Just to clarity I will be running the poll for a week to give everyone a chance to vote. I will then put the Wii up on ebay to sell and annouce it on my blog and other various social sites. Stay tuned to find out when it’s listed for your chance to bid on this sweet prize!

The State of My Humidor Address
While spending the evening watching poor excuses for “rockin” music on the New Years shows I decided I should do a review of my humidor. It’s something you should do every once in a while anyways. Keep a reminder of what you have in stock and to check for any problems like mold or bugs getting into your cigars. So here are a few shots of my humidor and a list of my current cigars.
I’m pretty sure my cigars are some how breeding on their own. For as many cigars as I’ve smoked I have actually managed to increase the number of cigars I have. I was certain I was down to maybe 60 something cigars but low to my surprise I have a very impressive 83!
