Bandwidth Drought? (part 2)

robert_cringely.jpg

Robert Cringely has posted the second part of his article on the claimed Bandwidth Drought that is coming.

At the end of the first part he promised he would provide a way to solve the problem. The solution is called Dynamic Time Metered Delivery (DTMD). The inventors, TelePulse Technologies, found a way to uses many of the technologies of radio communication and implement it over the standard copper phone networks. It should be able to provide speeds of 22mbps around 12,000 feet from the CO. Best of all it can run over lines that DSL can't!

This is some interesting technology and I'm sure with some improvements it might be able to extend the distance and speeds much much further.
