and a few other minor things

I’ve been starting to think about new years resolutions. I don’t know if it’s really worth it.

It seems like when you make resolutions you end up just breaking them soon after. Maybe instead of big list of new years resolutions I need to just make a promise to myself that I’ll be a better person and that I will follow through on anything I think about.

What do you all think?

It’s only 5 days until Christmas 2009.

Hope you are all doing well with your shopping. I’m almost done I think. I need to start wrapping and determine if I have enough presents to give to everyone.

I’ve been bad this year and didn’t get a list put together until today to send out to family and friends. I think I’ll end up with a bunch of giftcards probabbly but that’ll do just fine I guess.

Today is Veterans Day, so please make sure to take a moment to stop and thank a veteran, and all currently active service men and women, you know for their service to our great country! Without their loyal and dedicated service none of us might even be here today.

Today my brother-in-law packed up and went to the army base. He is shipping out for another tour in Iraq.

I’m very proud of him and it is such an honor to have an amazing brave soldier in my family. However, I’m also very sad to see him go. He already spent a year there and him and my sister just had their first child. It feels so unfair to make a man leave his wife and child so soon.  Right when she needs him most he’s pulled away. We don’t know yet when he will have any leave but most likely it won’t be until the springtime if it is anything like last time.

Thankfully we have a close and strong family. My parents are with her now and my mother is moving down for a few months to help my sister.

So Godspeed my brother. May your journey be safe and may you return swiftly to your family where you belong.
